NovelEco is generously funded by the European Research Council and runs from 2021 to 2026. This funding has enabled us to assemble a small team of academic researchers and begin the process of creating a large pool of citizen scientists in a few cities. However, we want to grow! We are very interested in expanding NovelEco into many more locations and languages and continuing our research beyond 2026.
So, we are always interested in hearing from potential funders and partners who can help us become global and make our data, free and open to all. If you are interested we would love to hear from you especially from:
- Philanthropists and funders with an interest in urban ecology, participatory (formerly citizen) science, and sustainability behaviour,
- Cities and municipalities with an interest in co-creation and citizen engagement, and
- Individuals and companies keen to develop an understanding of wild nature and its effect on humans.
We are partnering with the University of Melbourne, Centre for Cities project: Justice for Multispecies Ecologies which is being led by Dr. Melissa Pineda-Pinto. Mel received a McKenzie Research Fellowship to expand on her work with NovelEco in Australia and Costa Rica. If you are interested in partnering with NovelEco, just let us know!
